Muskoka native, Tenor Daevyd Pepper, is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto Opera School directed by Sandra Horst (MMUS), where he was a pupil of Soprano Frédérique Vezina. He also studied at York University (BFA:Voice) where he studied with Soprano Norma Burrowes.

Daevyd Pepper is an alumnus of prestigious opera training programs such as: Centre for Opera Studies in Italy and Chautauqua Voice program. His previous opera roles include: Orphée (Orphée aux Enfers), Lenski (Eugene Onegin), Male Chorus (The Rape of Lucretia), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Johnny Inkslinger (Paul Bunyan), Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte), Oronte (Alcina) and Bénédict (cover; Béatrice et Bénédict). In February 2017, Daevyd originated the role of Addison Witless in the world’s first zombie opera, Prima Zomie: The Diva that just wouldn’t stay dead, composed by UofT Opera’s renowned student composer collective.

This summer Daevyd makes debut at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis as Senator in the Grapes of Wrath, Goro (cover) in Madama Butterfly and chorus in Titus and will return to the Chautauqua program. He will also be joining the Calgary Emergong Artist program for the 2017/2018 season.

He is very excited to have be joining the Toronto Mozart Players for the Requiem.
