Sarah Richmond, mezzo soprano

Hailing from Carrickfergus, Ireland, mezzo soprano Sarah Richmond runs Music to Make Your Day performing at a wide variety of events; from small scale occasions through to celebrations before audiences of 15,000. She trained at ENO Opera Works, RNCM, National Opera Studio Intensive Short Course and the NI Opera Young Artist Programme.

Companies she has collaborated with include Pavilion Opera, NI Opera/Nevill Holt Opera, Iford Arts, Wide Open Opera, Lyric Opera, Clonter Opera, Spark Opera, Opera Collective Ireland and Castleward Opera.

Prominent conductors of solo engagements include Vasily Petrenko, Gergely Madaras, Sir Mark Elder and Paul Daniel. Recital venues include Oxford Lieder Festival, UK Strauss Society, and Chester Music Festival amongst many others.

Sarah has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Radio Ulster and world-wide when she sang for the IRFU. Dame Janet Baker awarded Sarah ‘The Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss’ and most recently she won both The Gerard Arnhold Bursary and the Emerging Young Artist Award from Wexford Festival Opera/PwC.
