The Toronto Mozart Vocal Competition and Master Class Series provides expert instruction and performance opportunities for emerging trained singers aged 18-35. Participants prepare three Mozart arias and perform in Round One of master classes with artistic director, David Bowser. Selected participants then perform in Round Two of master classes with soprano, Nathalie Paulin. The Competition is held at Church of the Redeemer and is open to the public. Four singers will be selected to perform as soloists in Mozart’s Requiem with the Toronto Mozart Players and Pax Christi Chamber Choir on Sunday April 28 2019 at 2:00pm and will receive a scholarship award of $500 or $1000 for an outstanding emerging artist.
Past performers / scholarship recipients include Elizabeth Polese, Whitney Mather, Andrea Nunez, Lyndsay Promane, Daevyd Pepper, Megan Miceli, Georgia Burashko and David Diston.
The Competition and Master Class Series in Voice 2018-2019 are now over.
Congratulations to mezzo soprano Jennifer Routhier, First Prize winner of the Toronto Mozart Competition and Master Class Series, and to Prize Winners, soprano Kendra Dyck and tenor River Guard. These three sensational singers will perform as soloists in Mozart’s “Requiem” with the Toronto Mozart Players under the baton of artistic director David Bowser on April 28, 2019, 2:00 PM at Church of the Redeemer.
