A Sea Lion Symphony

A Sea Lion Symphony

The Mozart Project presents the Canadian premiere of David Bowser’s A Sea Lion Symphony, a live music experience with film and narrator, featuring the Odin Quartet.

A Sea Lion Symphony is a documentary film about the sea lions of Point La Jolla, California. Shot from land, air and underwater, the film captures fascinating scenes revealing instinctive behaviours and playful activities of these intelligent, curious, gregarious and social wild animals. Bulls fight for dominance, pups are born to caring mothers and learn to nurse, young sea lions play in tide pools, adults surf at high tide, sea lions dive underwater exhibiting their agility, strength and speed.

This film by David Bowser features his original musical score and poetry by Carol Archibald to tell the story of A Sea Lion Symphony.

This sneak preview of A Sea Lion Symphony is a fundraiser event in support of post-production music recording costs needed to finalize the documentary for presentation at film festivals, on television and streaming options. Thank you for your support!

At this unique event you will:

  • experience the performance of David Bowser’s original sound track played live in coordination with the screening of the documentary film.
